BCOA TSE, November 2006

Members of the LSBC hosted a BCOA TSE on November 12, 2006 in conjunction with the Cypress Creek Kennel Club of Texas dog shows, held at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club. Sweepstakes judged by Ernie Cheely (TuffToo) and Regular Classes judged by Nitsa Trayler.

AKC Sanctioned A-Match #2!

LSBC's second AKC Borzoi A-Match was at Rose Creek Kennel in Red Oak, Texas on August 19, 2006. Match Chairman: R. Lynn Shell-Whitlock; Match Secretary: Margaret Lucia; Match Judge: Veni Harlan. Illustrated results are here and a marked catalog (PDF) is here.

Our First Full ASFA Trial Weekend!

On April 29-30, 2006, LSBC held its first full weekend of ASFA trials. Thanks to the generosity of the Lone Star Whippet Club, we borrowed their regular date this year due to the scheduling of the Whippet National Specialty. Field Trial Chairman was Victor Whitlock and FTS, R. Lynn Shell-Whitlock.

Weinkein Memorial Trophy

The Weinkein Perpetual Memorial Trophy was awarded for the first time at the 2005 ASFA Region IV Invitational. The recipient was Ch. Svoras Stonehenge, FCh; Breeder/owner Shirley McFadden. See the trophy created by Lynn Wall on the memorial's page.

AKC Sanctioned A-Match

We had 18 dogs exhibited at our first A-Match. Thanks to Margaret Lucia (Match Chairman) and Sandra Simmons (Match Secretary) for working hard on this endeavor, as well as to Kanne Earl-Bowers for judging! Illustrated results may be found HERE>>>

AUCTION TO BENEFIT THE "TEXAS 22" RESCUE

The LSBC Rescue Committee, with Chair Shirley McFadden at the helm, held an auction for funds to assist in the "Texas 22" rescue.Thanks to the generosity of those who donated items, and those that bid on those items or sent a separate donation, $3000 was raised! These funds will be sent to SPCA specifying that it is for expenses related to the rescue of the 22 Borzoi in Dayton, TX.
